The Hendricks: Kyrie Birth Story/1 Month

Two weeks before my due date I was dilated to 3cm,..my doctor asked if I would like to be induced on September 2nd. I was really hesitant because I wanted to go on my own. September 2nd came around and I still hadn't had Kyrie. I was checked that day and I was dilated to "basically 4cm". So I was progressing. But I still wanted to wait to see if I could go on my own. We scheduled for me to be induced on September 8th if I hadn't gone by then.

Obviously I hadn't gone. So I called the hospital at 5am and they had me go in at 6:30am to be induced. They got me all ready and started me on Pitocin. The contractions were getting harder and they checked me, I was dilated to 6cm. I asked for an epidural...got that all done and within an hour I had dilated to 9 1/2 cm. Time to push.

It took about 15 minutes and he was born at 12:58pm,
Kyrie weighed 8lbs 1oz. Length 20 3/4 inches. Head circumference: 14inches.

Kyrie James

He was a big boy. Bigger than I had expected. Labor went great and we were so happy to have him here. It wasn't until late that night that we finally decided on Kyrie James Hendricks. When they monitor the babies when they are born they monitor how many bowel movements they have and how many times they urinate. Before leaving the hospital Kyrie had about 8-12 bowel movements. He is a pooping machine. haha seriously it never stops. Kyrie did not lose any weight prior to leaving the hospital...no surprise there. Fatty.
We didnt' notice until a couple of days later, but Kyrie has a birth mark in between his eyebrows...just like Raymie. Weird.

ONE MONTH:
We love this sweet little guy. He likes to snuggle (which I love, because Raymie did not snuggle). He is an EATER. Seriously, he never stops. He rarely cries, and when he does he usually needs to burp or he has a tummy ache. He grunts all the time. When he is ready to eat, instead of crying, Kyrie grunts. When Kyrie sleeps he does this high pitched little whimper. It is seriously so adorable.
At Kyrie's week appointment he had already gained 5oz. He now weighed 8lbs 6oz.
At Kyrie's 2 week appointment he weighed 9lbs 1oz.

He hasn't lost weight yet. Our little fatty is already out of newborn diapers (I probably should have had him out of them 2 weeks ago...but I didn't want them to go to waste) and newborn clothing. He is wearing 3 month clothing and to be honest I'm a little nervous as to how big this kid is going to get.
Kyrie weighed in at 10lbs 8oz and 21 1/2 inches long today. He just keeps growing! He is gaining roughly 10oz/week. That's more than the average...at least that's what the nurse lady said.
